One Month Old

She was one month old one Thursday. I can't believe it has been one month already. It seems like only a couple of weeks. Being pregnant seems so long ago though. She is getting bigger every day. I can sit and watch her grow. She is already too big for some of her newborn clothes. She has moved into the 0-3 month outfits and still has some of the larger newborn clothes left. She can fit into the size 1 diapers now. She still could be in the newborn diapers, however, we are out of newborns and have a lot of size 1, so we are just using those now.

Anyways, I made cupcakes for her one month birthday. I know she can't eat them, but mommy sure can. Not that I need them. I still have 20lbs to loose, but everyday, I notice little changes. I refuse to buy new "middle size" pants. I have one pair of maternity pants that don't look like maternity pants that I am going to continue to where until I can get back into some of my "regular jeans." Shirts on the other hand, I might have to purchase a few more larger shirts. I am a milking machine these days and my shirts just don't fit right.

Check out this picture that Joe took. It is so funny. We were taking pictures of her for a picture frame we were given by Great-Grandma Weiland and she stuck out her tongue instead of smiling.

Joe's baby blues have passed for the most part. I am wanting four kids and now he is only wanting one. It was the opposite before she came. Funny how her arrival into the world changes everything. Everyone told me it would, but until you experience what that really means you have no idea. Just like most of the advice I received during my pregnancy about being a mom, you understand and have an idea what it really means, but until you are a mom yourself you really don't know the meaning of the advice you receive.

Thanks to all of you who have given me advice on parenting and live in general after you have become a mom. I understand what you mean now. Life is different. What is important in my life has changed and the meaning of life has changed.

For those of you that are parents the I criticized or gave my opinion about parenting, especially my sister, I apologize if you felt I gave you bad advice or was rude. I had no idea what I was talking about. I especially want to tell my sister that she is a excellent mother and I now understand some of the decisions and choices she has made over the last 10 years with her girls.
So my advice to those that are not parents yet, keep your opinions to yourself, you have know idea what you are talking about.

Three-Weeks Old

Today, she is three-weeks and one day old. We are all doing great. We have had her first doc appointment just before christmas. She was weighted in at 7lb 9oz. Up from 6lb 14oz when we left the hospital. She gained her weight back fast. She grew about a 1/2 by her appointment. Today, I say she has probably grown another inch. She is getting too big for some of her smaller newborn clothes. She still is wearing newborn diapers and clothes, but not for long.

Christmas was good. All the family came to our house. It was a long and tiring day for both Maddie and I, but we got through it. For New Years, we stayed home. Jeff and Amy came over, but all of us were home in bed by 10-ish. We just couldn't keep our eyes open to see the new year. Thank god the holidays are over.

I had my first appointment last week. All is good with me. My scar is healing well. I am up and moving, but I can tell when I have over done it. So Maddie and I just stay home and relax as much as possible.

We have had several outtings in the last few weeks besides doctor visits. We have been to Sam's Club, Babies R Us, Visited Bruce and Cindy, went to dinner at Apple Bee's and Lunch at On the Border, the grocery store, visited Grandma O at her work, stopped by and visited Grandpa O and to the vet clinic. She does very well traveling and going places. She does well everywhere.

We are still working on getting the sleeping schedule down. She is doing better and better each night, but is still staying up later than I would like. Each night she is going to bed an hour earlier and earlier.

Here is a picture of her taking a bath. She really loves to take a bath. This picture she was mad at mommy for stopping to take the picture. She wanted the water on her. Her belly button had not fallen off yet, so she couldn't have more water in her tub. Now, she gets more water, so she is much happier.

She is perfect what can I say and she loves her Mommy.
